AI how-to documentation and video

Last updated August 23, 2026
The take

Captures a workflow on your screen and turns it into a how-to video or guide in minutes, worth a real pilot given thin outside proof.

Great for

Support, enablement, and training teams producing a steady stream of software how-tos they would otherwise explain over and over.

The catch

Independent review coverage is thin. Most of what's known comes from Guidde's own docs, so verify it on your own workflow.

Bottom line

Reach for it when many authors serve a large viewer audience, since viewers don't consume paid seats. Pilot one real process first.

What you're actually getting

Guidde records your desktop activity, then turns the captured steps into an editable how-to, either a written guide or a narrated video. You clean up the steps, add voice, publish or export, and share with viewers.

Capture runs through a desktop application on Windows 10 and up or macOS 11 and up, documented on the Business and Enterprise tiers. There is no mobile capture, so confirm your team's setup matches before you plan around it.

I really like Guidde. I made 2 stellar videos today, first time user.

Where it earns its keep

The core job is turning a demonstration into a reusable asset fast. Customer enablement, internal training, support docs, product onboarding, and change communication all fit, especially where the same process gets explained again and again.

Viewers not consuming creator seats is a genuine economic help when a handful of authors serve a large audience. You pay for the people who make guides; watching costs nothing.

If you just need to ship a quick explainer video, it's fine. But I kept feeling like the AI was writing documentation about my process rather than capturing my process.

Where it'll bite you

The evidence itself is the biggest catch. Neutral, independent review coverage is thin in the current research, so you are mostly trusting the vendor's own material. Pilot one real process end to end, capture through review, publishing, and reuse, before you commit a program to it.

Capture is desktop-only on specific OS versions and needs the right permissions, so check it against your team before rollout.

Decide up front who edits the AI-generated steps and redacts anything sensitive before a guide ships. Plan inclusion for SSO, SCIM, translation, SCORM, and redaction varies by tier, so verify the exact plan at purchase.

the predatory marketing of Guidde really pisses me off… 'upgraded' to pro. lost access to the text to voice feature… left with a bunch of half finished, useless videos.

What it costs, really

Free covers up to 25 how-to videos. Pro is $19 per creator per month annual ($29 monthly), Business is $39 ($59), and Enterprise is custom.

The number that drives the bill is your count of recurring creators, since viewers don't consume paid seats. Count how many people actually author guides and size the plan from there.

They look great in demos, but in real workflows they kept breaking for me. Missed clicks, wrong voice overs in videos, weird AI summaries, and zero control when something went wrong.
