Otterly.AI
AI search visibility monitoring
A cheap, fast read on whether your brand shows up in AI answers, as long as you bring your own plan for fixing it.
Lean teams who want a lightweight monitor of how they appear in ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews without an enterprise contract.
Entry plans track only 15 prompts, full engine coverage costs extra per model, and it reports what is happening without telling you what to publish next.
Reach for it as a directional dashboard when you already own your GEO playbook. If you want the tool to prescribe the fix, it stops short.
What you're actually getting
Otterly.AI is a GEO monitoring platform (AI-search visibility). You track a set number of search prompts and it watches how your brand shows up inside AI answer engines, with ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Copilot covered as standard.
The flagship is brand mention tracking, which scans AI answers for every time you appear and flags whether it was a top recommendation or a passing mention. Sentiment scoring adds a reputation read on each one.
Around that sit a share-of-voice index, link-citation analysis showing which URLs the models quote, prompt research, and URL-level GEO audits. A Gartner Cool Vendor tag and agency features like Looker Studio round it out.
I've played with a few of them and tbh everything in the 'AI visibility' space still feels super early and kinda noisy. Otterly is decent for directional insight but I wouldn't treat it like rank tracking yet. … Clients love the screenshots but I'd frame it as experimental so you're not married to flaky data later.
Where it earns its keep
It earns its keep as a quick signal. Reviewers describe it as fast to set up and lightweight, a way to answer are we showing up at all without living in a dashboard.
The price is the real draw at this end of the market. A Lite plan gives agencies client-ready screenshots and a directional read for less than most rivals charge to start.
Citation and share-of-voice views make it useful for reporting to stakeholders who want proof the brand surfaces in AI answers, which is hard to show any other way.
I've bounced between Wellows, Otterly and Peec depending on the client, and the split usually comes down to whether source-level detail matters more than price for that particular account.
Where it'll bite you
Prompt limits bite first. Lite tracks just 15 prompts and Standard 100, which runs out fast across multiple markets, languages, or products, and extra prompts cost $99 for another 100.
Full engine coverage is an add-on tax. Only four engines are standard, and Claude, Gemini, and Google AI Mode each cost extra per tier, with Claude alone running $29 to $439 a month. Price the coverage you actually need before you sign.
It monitors without acting. The consistent verdict is that it shows what is happening but leaves the what-to-publish-next to you, so pair it with a content playbook. Treat the numbers as directional, since LLM outputs shift run to run.
the tools out there fall into two buckets. theres the monitoring side like brand24 or otterly that track how often your brand gets mentioned. useful for dashboards and reporting but what actually moved the needle for us was the other approach. instead of counting mentions we scan the buying intent prompts …
What it costs, really
Lite is $29/mo, or $25 billed annually, for 15 prompts and four engines. Standard is $189/mo ($160 annual) for 100 prompts plus API and MCP access, and Premium is $489/mo ($422 annual) for 400 prompts. Enterprise starts from $1,000/mo, and a free trial is available.
Your real bill rides on prompts and extra engines. Add prompts at $99 per 100, stack per-model engine add-ons on top, and a cheap-looking plan climbs quickly once you cover more than the basics.
even we'd say tools like ours, Profound, or Otterly are worth testing side by side before committing. Citation freshness and prompt coverage matter more than raw mention counts.
Otterly was fast to set up and felt lightweight in a good way. … Quick signal on 'are we showing up at all?' without feeling enterprise-y. Easy to keep running without living in a dashboard. … It tells you what's happening, but it doesn't inherently solve 'what should we publish next?' You still need your own playbook.
