Website & landing · head to head

Webflow vs Framer

Visual website builder with AI  vs  AI-era website and landing-page builder. Specs, capabilities, and what real users said in the last year, lined up.

The verdict

Webflow is the deeper platform: a CSS-grade canvas, a real structured CMS, e-commerce, and clean code export, at the cost of a steeper learning curve and stacked pricing. Framer is the faster designer canvas: Figma-like, quickest path to a polished published site, but no code export. If you need CMS depth and ownership of the code, Webflow wins; if speed-to-published-design matters most, Framer does.

Both are visual no-code site builders with hosting and AI generation. The split is platform depth versus design speed: Webflow scales content-rich sites and hands you the code, Framer gets designers from idea to live page in hours.

Meet the two

Webflow Website & landing

Visual no-code website builder with a CSS-grade design canvas, a real CMS, AWS-grade hosting, and an AI site generator that turns a text prompt into a multi-page site. Now positions as an agentic web platform with an MCP server for Claude and ChatGPT, AEO agents, and AI credits.

Our take

The visual website builder marketing teams reach for when design fidelity matters, if a designer owns the build and the budget survives the stacked plans.

What users actually say

Webflow, in users’ words

Webflow bridges the gap between design and development beautifully. I use it for client projects at Hoffman Homes and the no-code approach speeds up iteration cycles significantly. The learning curve is real, but worth it.

I can't be the only one in Webflow world angry about this appalling AI credit limits? 6 basic things. almost 30% used in one day. From here on, I simply refuse to use any AI feature from Webflow and have instructed all of my clients to do the same.

Framer, in users’ words

The biggest win is that I can design and publish from the same canvas, so there's no handoff to a developer and no second tool to learn. The interface feels like Figma, which made it easy to pick up, and breakpoints are visual, so responsive design is much quicker than writing media queries.

I HATE the hutzpa of charging nearly TWICE as much for monthly rather than annual fees. Such high costs combined with the fact that you can't easily EXPORT = unfair vendor lockin.
